The RISS-CHECK penetrant testing 3-part set is a proven system for non-destructive testing using the dye penetrant method in accordance with DIN EN ISO 3452-2.
The system is designed to reliably detect surface-breaking cracks.
RISS-CHECK Penetrant Red
penetrates even the finest surface cracks
RISS-CHECK Cleaner-Remover
for pre-cleaning and removal of excess penetrant
RISS-CHECK Developer White
makes penetrated cracks clearly visible
The crack inspection using the RISS-CHECK system is carried out as follows:
Cleaning and degreasing
Thoroughly clean the test surface using the RISS-CHECK Cleaner-Remover.
Apply penetrant
Spray RISS-CHECK Penetrant Red evenly onto the surface.
Penetration time: 3 to 25 minutes, depending on material and defect depth.
Remove excess penetrant
Remove penetrant residue from the surface using the RISS-CHECK Cleaner.
Apply developer
Shake RISS-CHECK Developer well and spray evenly.
Development time: 1 to 25 minutes.
During development, cracks appear as clearly visible red indications on a white background.
RISS-CHECK crack detection is used wherever surface-breaking defects must be reliably identified, including:
Weld seams
Cast parts
Mechanical and plant engineering
Automotive industry
Shipbuilding
Aircraft construction
Pressure vessels and apparatus construction
The method is primarily used on metallic materials, but is also suitable for:
Plastics
Ceramic materials
Glass
Non-destructive testing method
High sensitivity for surface cracks
Easy application
Complies with international standards
Ideal for safety-critical components
Note:
Defects must be open to the surface for this method to be effective. Surface cracks are among the most critical defects, as stress concentration can lead to premature component failure.
Made in Germany
Which standard does RISS-CHECK comply with?
The RISS-CHECK system is suitable for non-destructive testing using the dye penetrant method in accordance with DIN EN ISO 3452-2.
Which defects can be detected with RISS-CHECK?
The method detects surface-breaking cracks, pores and defects that are open to the surface. Subsurface defects cannot be detected.
Which materials can be tested with RISS-CHECK?
The method is mainly used on metallic materials, but can also be applied to plastics, ceramics and glass, provided the surface is suitable and defects are open.
Is the crack testing method non-destructive?
Yes, RISS-CHECK is a non-destructive testing method. The component remains fully functional after inspection.
Is cleaning required after testing?
Yes, after completing the inspection, the component should be cleaned to remove any remaining penetrant or developer residues.
