For accurate results in 3D scanning, the surface often needs to be pretreated. We developed the RVK 3D Scan Spray in collaboration with leading German universities, and it can accurately image shiny, transparent, reflective, and dark surfaces.
Due to its even, fine, and homogeneous structure, very thin layers can be applied. Maximum accuracy can be generated for optimal scanning.
For accurate optical 3D scanning, surface preparation is often required. RVK 3D Scan Spray is used whenever shiny, reflective, transparent or very dark surfaces make reliable scanning difficult.
The spray creates a uniform, fine and opaque coating that enables precise digitization of complex geometries without distorting relevant surface details.

Is RVK 3D Scan Spray residue-free?
The spray creates a fine white coating that is required for the scanning process. The coating is not sublimating and must be removed mechanically or by cleaning after scanning.
Which 3D scanners is the spray suitable for?
RVK 3D Scan Spray is suitable for all common optical 3D scanners where reflective or dark surfaces can cause scanning issues.
Does the spray affect dimensional accuracy?
Thanks to the very thin and uniform coating, surface geometry is preserved. Fine details smaller than 0.2 mm can still be captured reliably.
What is the advantage compared to powder or chalk?
Unlike powders, the spray can be applied in a controlled and homogeneous manner. This prevents uneven deposits and dust formation that could negatively impact scan results.
